Some of you may already know this, but for those that don’t…earlier this year, my sister gifted us with a fabulous hand-me-down ice cream maker. That ice cream maker has been like kitchen gold at my house. As soon as we brought it in the door, we started to experiment. And y’all we’ve made all kinds of sorbets and plenty of different ice creams! (Chocolate anyone? Or Blackberry?) But hands down, this Easy Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream is the ice cream recipe my kids beg for ALL. THE. TIME. And it really is SO easy to make! Just a few ingredients, and you’re set to enjoy this tasty frozen sweet treat.
Now, despite the fact that this ice cream recipe only calls for just a few simple ingredients, you will need an ice cream freezer. And once it’s finished freezing in the ice cream freezer, I also put it in our big freezer to firm up even more.
Don’t get me wrong, if you like a softer-style ice cream, then it may be perfect for your taste when you take it out of your ice cream freezer. I just love a firmer ice cream texture…hence the extra time in the freezer.
And I like to use fresh strawberries in this recipe. Something about the tasty tart of the fresh ones, combined with the sweet creamy ice cream base…y’all it’s just plain yummy!
So as you’re enjoying these last few batches of summer strawberries, definitely indulge in the easy homemade strawberry ice cream. My kids love this super easy recipe! And speaking of favorite kids recipes, be sure to check out all the yummy favorites from the Sunday Supper tastemakers! I can’t wait to try some of these!
