This Oven Baked BBQ Spare Ribs recipe is my winter ribs recipe…they turn out delicious in the oven! And no outdoor grill needed, so they’re perfect for cold winter days.

Even though I live in a pretty warm climate 11 months out of the year, there are times when either
a. it’s too cold outside to grill;
b. My husband isn’t home to operate said grill; or even…
c. We just plain don’t feel like messing with the outdoor grill.
So when this happens, I resort to one of 2 options for my grilled food cravings. I either use my tabletop indoor grill…or I bake/broil. Some dishes obviously work better using one or the other of these two methods. These Oven Baked BBQ Spare Ribs come out unbelievable tasty in the oven, and so tender the meat falls right off the bone.
Not only are these ribs delicious, they are also really easy to make. You’ll need your favorite BBQ sauce, which can be bought or homemade. This summer I plan to experiment a bit more to fine tune my BBQ sauce recipe, so for these ribs, I chose to use a store bought brand of sauce.
One other tidbit on these ribs…you’ll see below that I bake them for quite a while, and when I finish them off in the oven, I broil them. When we do ribs on the grill, I prepare them the same way, bake them for the same amount of time, and, rather than broiling them, I finish them off on the grill. Add a little coleslaw and potato salad, and you’ll be dreaming of summer in no time.
